Genentec — New Managers Roadmap Challenge

Genentech/Roche Pharmaceuticals needed to transform new manager onboarding. Their previous program was difficult to keep current, and new managers had to schedule around the course availability.

New Managers Roadmap Challenge is a unique learning game for new managers, which is automatically assigned to new managers at hire. The game lets players complete 60 different onboarding activities within their first year on the job. The game integrates with a social site, so that players can compete against others on a leaderboard.

Game levels unlock automatically in 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year to help managers prioritize what they should focus on for their development. After each level, players can refer to their completed milestones to review and track progress Milestones consist of links to a corporate blog, videos and other resources to help new managers acclimate to the culture over time.

Players can earn bonus points by completing mini-games that test the player’s knowledge by completing as many milestones as possible, before time runs out.
