When Genentech & Roche Pharmaceuticals needed a refreshed manager onboarding program, we stepped in. We designed a learning game that lets players complete 60 different onboarding activities within their first year on the job. Each game level unlocks automatically in four time periods (30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year) to help managers prioritize what they should focus on for their development. Milestones consist of links to a corporate blog, videos, and other resources to help new managers acclimate to the culture over time. At random intervals, players can earn bonus points by completing mini-games that test their knowledge.
