AWS was seeking assistance in the development of two simulations that walked Sales and Customer-facing team members through situational-based activities following solution-based selling activities. We designed these two simulations, following the “story-arc” model, which combines simulation and story. Using this model, players work in groups where they encounter situations, consider the options, take actions, see the consequences, and then try again to improve the outcomes.

To help Disney train travel agents on how to sell the Disney Cruise Line, we created a 3-D virtual game called “A Magical Voyage.” In it, players chase Captain Hook through a chain of themed islands where they demonstrate their knowledge to earn treasure and continue the voyage. This game, featuring videos and minigames, was delivered in HTML 5 for play on tablets and computers.

When Genentech & Roche Pharmaceuticals needed a refreshed manager onboarding program, we stepped in. We designed a learning game that lets players complete 60 different onboarding activities within their first year on the job. Each game level unlocks automatically in four time periods (30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year) to help managers prioritize what they should focus on for their development. Milestones consist of links to a corporate blog, videos, and other resources to help new managers acclimate to the culture over time. At random intervals, players can earn bonus points by completing mini-games that test their knowledge.
